The Mission of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Environment Committee is to bring about a better business climate and a higher quality of life for all Tennesseans through the following specific steps:

Leadership: The Chamber will be a focal point in determining the state's agenda, standards, and priorities. The involvement and cooperation of the Chamber will be indispensable in adopting solution-oriented policies for Tennessee.

Regulatory Advocacy: The Chamber will be a vital party to regulatory planning, development, promulgation, implementation, and enforcement.

Legislative Advocacy: The Chamber will be a key participant in the debate and adoption of laws governing business and the environment.

Information Exchange: The Chamber will be a resource for members by providing information that assists in achieving environmental excellence in a cost-effective manner. The Chamber will provide a forum for the exchange of technology, best practices, management tools, regulatory assistance, and other information.

Professional Development: The Chamber will provide seminars, conferences, and conduct meetings to develop the regulatory, technological, and legal knowledge and skills of our members.

Environmental Betterment: The Chamber will encourage pollution prevention, responsible management, increased compliance, and technology transfer. The Chamber will be committed to an increasingly better environment through efficient and effective means.

Public Education: The Chamber will share its technical and policy expertise along with relevant information necessary to make sound decisions and to form well-reasoned opinions.
