Your organization should be tracking employee use of all substances from illegal drugs to excessive alcohol use. By tracking (1) medical claims, (2) disability claims, (3) leave of absence cases, and (4) EAP cases you can track where your company is currently regarding substance use and whether or not your company is successful in substance use intervention efforts over time.
